VR1000-100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently got a headset and when I first hooked it up the headset worked fine, though I had issues with the controllers. After doing a restart I could get the controllers connected fine but now the headset doesn't and gives a 2181038087-12 error code. I've since factory reset the computer and followed the solution provided from the error code which is to make sure that the USB controllers are using Microsoft drivers. I've also tried the headset on another computer but have gotten the same error. I'm not sure where to go seeing as there isn't much information on this subject yet.

Hi,

Is your PC VR provisioned?

HP ENVY 6055, HP Deskjet 1112
HP Envy 17", i7-8550u,16GB, 512GB NVMe, 4K screen, Windows 11 x64
Custom PC - Z690, i9-12900K, 32GB DDR5 5600, dual 512 GB NVMe, gen4 2 TB m.2 SSD, 4K screen, OC'd to 5 Ghz, NVIDIA 3080 10GB

It passes all the mixed reality tests and is above the minimum requirements.

PC1: AMD R7 1700X, RX 480 8GB, 16GB RAM

PC2: i5 6200, GTX960 4GB, 8GB RAM

Both with the latest Windows 10 updates, USB 3 and more than enough storage space.

Hi,

Sorry but the NVIDIA GTX 960 according to some reviews is a "potato" for VR and wasn't recommended.  Another example is that the EVGA GTX 960 was never certified and advertised for VR.

I am sure that you have read some of this information but I suggest that you read the entire post and see if you discover other possibilities.

Be that as it may, the error code involves the USB driver and it was working in the beginning so the graphic card isn't the issue, hence the two computers with different GPU's to verify. Both systems it's the same error code. I also have read through the developer support documents.

And what did you learn about ALL of the developer's comments?  Are your PCs in compliance with the comments?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us.  Yes, the issue was getting down to two things; VR hardware and cables and/or procedural
