Just unpacked this new PC and I can't connect my lame old monitor to it. Monitor is a Samsung 19F350 with 18-pin blue connectors. Can I get by with new connector cables for now, understanding that I should also upgrade in that department soon? The new PC appears to have monitor connection options, a UPC port and a 24-pin (3 rows of 😎 thingy. Monitor looks like it has each of those available.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06693646
which says it has NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 SUPER™ (4 GB GDDR6 dedicated) video card which has
DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI 2.0b (2)
From your description your monitor only has VGA port, looks like it is the following monitor
https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-18-5-inch-46-9-Monitor/dp/B01DP5M4TQ
You machine only has digital connectors and your monitor only has analog connection, you need a converter from digital to analog.
I tested and currently have at least 5 adapters / converters from DVI to VGA but I have not tested from HDMI or DP to VGA, I think a proper converter from DP or HDMI yo VGA should work. Please try

otherwise buy a new monitor.
Regards.
