HP Recommended

When I hook computer up to TV it displays fine, but my HP all-in-one monitor is black. When I boot computer, the HP shows in the middle of screen briefly along with the spinning circle and audio chimes in that it has booted but the screen goes black. I went through all the diagnostics which said everything was fine. I even updated the BIOS firmware which the update displayed fine. Drives are all up to date. Again, I can get display on my TV and how I am able to write this but not on my monitor which seemly sees everything but my desktop.  My model is past warranty so no support available. Whatever ideas on what to try next I am all ears. Thanks in advance!
