Monitor will not start after falling asleep

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The problem started about 5days ago when my computer goes into sleep mode, or if I manually place it in sleep mode, the monitor will not wake.  The computer is running; I can hear the fan and the light on the front of the monitor is on, but the monitor itself will not wake.  The only way I can get the computer back on is to do a hard reset by holding in the power button, turning it off, then back on.  I've tried all the obvious fixes; windows updates, HP updates, unplugging, turning off sleep mode, making sure the keyboard is able to wake the computer in settings, virus scans, etc. Also, the mouse will light up and then go out.   Nothing so far has worked.  Any suggestions on how to fix or what the problem maybe?

@CTEDWARDS

Thank you for the update.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

  1. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

  1. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  2. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  3. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

Have a nice day!!
