HP Pavilion 31.5 inch All-in-One Desktop PC 32-b0000i IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

Recently, I spent $1,708.35 via HP.com buying a specially outfitted HP Pavilion 31.5" All-in-One Desktop PC 32-b0000i that was shipped to me from China.  From my point of receiving the box that it was shipped in, to opening the box, and removing the PC, and placing the PC on top of my desktop, no accidents occurred.  The PC did not fall, or slip, or get bumped, or had anything fall onto it, or anything. I was meticulously cautious with it, like it was nitroglycerin.

I followed all of the instructions to start it, but it wouldn't boot up, and it lit up an awful spectrum of a crashed screen.  I called HP, and they said accidents weren't covered, but it hadn't any accident.  I was told because I didn't purchase an insurance policy on it that it's my responsibility to pay for it.  No where did any information that i was given alert, warn, advise, or give notice to me that I'm responsible for damages caused from shipping.

My head is spinning, and I don't know what to do, where to go, who to talk to, what to say, and this is because HP told me repairs will cost me $600.00 plus labor and tax.  If anyone can advise me, will you please!

How would I know if, and where HP placed any shock sensors on my HP Pavilion that was shipped from China? There are visible damages on the box that correspond exactly to where the worst of the screen damages appear to be.

Unless there is visible damage to the box about all you can  do is file a complaint.

Shock sensor attached to box?

Sensors run $150 for 50 of them.   A $1000+ shipping item from overseas should have at least one IMHO

Shock sensors would be on the box.  If you have visible damages on the box it should not have been accepted assuming you had to sign for it.

Include photo of damage to box.  The item was undoubtedly insured with the shipping company.  The photo needs to be uploaded with your BBB complaint in addition of going to HP support.  Make sure HP support gets a copy of your BBB complaint.  Also, save login information to the BBB so you can re-access the complaint if you need to update it.
