HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4V9AV)

I brought this laptop a year ago, the first time the flickering happened was 2weeks after i used it, i panicked but it stopped. Then after 10month it happened again, only this time more flickering and i had to wait for a while for it to stop. It did stop but after 30min. But now it's happening alot and this week it happened 4 times it stop for 1 day and continues for 3 to 4 days. The screen flickering goes wayyyy more when laptop plugged in charger, or in a discord call.

Hi @YASIR01,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP laptop. Flickering screens can be caused by various factors, including hardware or software problems. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Update your graphics driver: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause screen flickering. Visit the HP support website and search for your laptop model to find the latest graphics driver. Download and install it following the provided instructions.
  • Adjust screen refresh rate: Sometimes, a high refresh rate can cause flickering. Right-click on your desktop, select "Display settings," then click on "Advanced display settings." Under the "Refresh rate" section, try lowering the refresh rate to see if it helps.
  • Check the power settings: If the flickering occurs more frequently while the laptop is charging, it could be related to power settings. Go to the Control Panel, select "Power Options," and make sure the selected power plan is set to balanced or high performance.
  • Disable adaptive brightness: Some laptops have a feature called "adaptive brightness" that can cause screen flickering. To disable it, go to the Control Panel, select "Power Options," and click on "Change plan settings" next to your selected power plan. Then click on "Change advanced power settings," expand the "Display" section, and disable the "Adaptive brightness" option.
  • Test in safe mode: Restart your laptop and enter safe mode by pressing the F8 or Shift+F8 key repeatedly during startup. In safe mode, observe if the screen still flickers. If the issue doesn't occur, it might be related to a third-party software or driver. Consider uninstalling recently installed programs or updating problematic drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello, sorry for the late reply.

Non of your methods worked, the screen flicker more when the laptop is in charger(only when it's flickering)+the laptop reduce flickering when task manager is opened.

Everytime i change the laptop location in the house and change the plug, the laptop start flickering again.
