Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Touchscreen has stopped working and I am not sure which driver to download. The HP Website is useless and I can't find anything or how to speak to anybody.

Can you help please?

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hi

I have done that previously and it has not fixed the problem. I believe it is something to do with an update for Windows 10 as I have read other posts that are saying the same thing.

We can try making some changes in the registry and that might help

1. Search for and open regedit

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Touch

3. Create a new DWORD (32 bit) with the name TouchGate

4. Doubleclik on the newly ceated DWORD and make sure it has the value 1

(0 = touch disabled, 1 = touch enabled)

5. Restart the computer

You can refer to this Microsoft Link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/permanently-disable-touchscree...

Let me know how it goes

hello again

I did what you said and it has not worked sorry. I have just spent an hour on the phone to HP tech support as well and nothing that they suggested worked either. It seems nobody at HP seems to know how to fix this.

Thanks

Peter

As a last resort I suggest you perform a System Recovery
