HP Monitor V214a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a second HP monitor now linked to my desktop PC via DVDI cable but HP Support Assistant does not detect this as a new device. I tried adding it manually but HP Support Assistant did not like the long product number, around 15 characters. Should a second monitor be recognised as a new device and how do I add this.

Unless something has changed very recently,

HP Support Assistant allows you to add "other" computers and printers.

Devices like monitors (regardless of brand), phones, external disks cannot be added.

I managed to add the new monitor manually by entering the serial number and product number. The product number on the back of the monitor was very long and similar in parts. I found a product number on the box matching the second part of the number on the back of the monitor. When using this HP Assistant has fully identified the new product.
