Thanks for the quick answer.

Is this machine so fast that I cannot even tell when the hard drive is working or not?  The SSD has memory similar to the RAM and has no disks.  Here is a good explanation of the SSD:

http://computer.howstuffworks.com/solid-state-drive.htm

Once you have a SSD boot drive, you will never want a HDD again.  I know that I don't want one.  The HDD's are good for storage and that is it.

Then what is the little white ight at the top of the case above the what I would call the drive door for?  I believe that is the indicator for the Slim-line DVD drive.

Thanks again

Willie

@Willie32, welcome to the forum.

There is no drive indicator light on the case.  The boot SSD's don't require one.

You folks are great.

I've read all the recommended pages and learned much.

I'm also from the days of the old Commodor 64 I'm used to old fashioned hard drives running with XP.

Thanks again for your help.

You are very welcome, @Willie32.  It is a pleasure to help old guys like me! :Wink:  It is difficult to keep up with the technology these days.  I have to constantly be reading and learning.  I know you will enjoy the SSD.  They are one of the best improvements that have come down the pike.
