my desktop keeps on saying no signal i tried unplugging it and starting it up again but no luck

@cristiannam -- welcome to this peer-to-peer discussion forum. It is not a direct path to HP.

 

A few possibilities:

  1. something wrong with the video-card in your computer, such that it does not send any video-output. Can you borrow a different monitor, to see if that helps?
  2. your monitor has multiple video-inputs (PC? VGA? DVI? DisplayPort? HDMI?) and your monitor is "listening" to the wrong source. Use the monitor's OSD (On Screen Display) to cycle through the various inputs, to try to receive the video-output from your computer.
  3. something wrong with the cable between the computer and the monitor. Can you try a different cable?
