No video out .The monitor says no signal

On 5-19-2020 , the old man suggested to use USB to HDMI to bypass the graphics card or built-in adapter. 

HP support says to download a BIOS update which I did. BUT how can I update  the bios if I can see what I'm doing (duh). There is no display help on the   screen

If all fails I will buy the USB adapter. Will it give me a good display ??

It has following ports at its back

• HDMI
• VGA
• LAN (Ethernet)
• USB 2.0
• USB 3.1

Why you have to bypass above 2 video out ports ? Monitor MUST use AMD Radeon Graphics iGPU. Noway you can bypass this UNLESS you add a GPU to its  PCIe x16 slot.

I did add a PCIe x16 video card but still no signal to monitor. So I've send for a USB3 to VGA adapter and hope I can update the bios to new driver. Otherwise the  $180 US board is toast.

I now realize that even using the adapter USB to vga will not work if the graphic chip is damaged.

what to do next?? thsi little desktop id very good but do not want to put in 100 to $200 into itthe replace the motherboard.

Is there an audio beep warning on boot up to tell us something is not right?

I still dont have video and the USB to monitor adapter still has not come in. 

I hear the hard drive ticking away as it loads windows I guess

Where can I get a used working motherboard in Ontario Canada??
