Omen X35
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

For the past month I've been experiencing some flickering issues on my Omen X35 monitor that I've owned for about 3 years.

Suddenly the entire monitor will start flicker with a pink/red hue and a cyan colored band will start moving across the screen.

I have attached two images of what this looks like.

Turning the monitor off and then on again with the power button does nothing. After unplugging the power cord and then inserting it again the monitor no longer starts but if I leave the power cord unplugged for a couple of minutes the monitor works again without any flicker. This has happened about 1-2 times a week since last month (when the extended warranty ran out, of course).

Has anybody seen this before or have an explanation to what is going on. Is there anything I can do to fix the issue or can I count on the monitor being dead soon?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Elias [Personal Information Removed].

Welcome to the HP support community.

Here's what you need to do, to identify the issue and resolve it accordingly:

  • Check if monitor works fine on an alternate computer, if not available, check the BIOS screen to identify if it's either a hardware or a software issue:
    • If it works fine on the alternate monitor or the BIOS (Accessed while tapping F10 during a restart for HP computers) it's a software issue & I suggest creating a new user account to check if that works better, for starters or contact the manufacturer or the desktop for support,
    • However, if it doesn't work within the BIOS or if you've got an option to check with another monitor and that doesn't work either, I'm afraid it's a hardware malfunction.

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
