Opening picture files

Since I now have a new Windows All in One I realize many functions like Windows 10 are not the same. When I open my picture files i don't get all the pictures showing. I'm getting just the windows icon not my picture icon. I did go to details then show pictures but most times it doesn't work.

Are you talking about the preview when you open a folder, or images when you want to view them, with the photo app?
I installed windows 11, but either for one or the other, no problem, but all my images are in jpg..
maybe it depends on the type of image?
