HP Touch Smart 610-1250XT
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Issues with screens randomly opening.  It can be programs, new tabs or notifications screen is often common.  Turned off the touchsmart, but that didn't seem to matter.  It's very annoying, what can be done to correct this from happening?  Much appreciated.

Hi! @GoMarquette92,

Do you see any errors on the screen?

Please share the screenshot or picture of the screen to assist you better.

It sounds like the PC is affected with Virus or Malware try the steps recommended below.

Run a full computer scan with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus free. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software. Please refer the below link to download and run the

Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Try running Microsoft safety scanner using this link. Click Here

DISCLAIMER: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for using an antivirus software program that provides ongoing protection.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect the computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time the antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Also, Select the Start button, then select Settings  > Update & Security.
Select Windows Defender, then turn Real-time protection on.

Perform a clean boot

Sign in to the computer as an administrator.
Click Start, and type msconfig.
Select System Configuration from the search results.
On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.
Close Task Manager.
On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.

Hope this answers your query!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
