Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My touch screen stopped working. I updated the driver and now the screen is flashing on and off and I can't do anything to try to roll it back.

@Jfozzard

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the HP Pavillion 23tm touch screen monitor screen is flashing after the recent driver update,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you check if an alternate monitor works?

As it's important to identify if this is an issue with the monitor or the computer you've installed the driver on.

While you respond to that, if the screen is flashing or in other words flickering and you can still see the background at times, try the below steps:

  1. Right-click the desktop and click Display settings.

  2. Under Customize your display, at the bottom, click Advanced display settings.

  3. Under Related settings, click Display adapter properties.

  4. Select the Monitor tab.

  5. Under Screen refresh rate, select another refresh rate if available.

  6. Click OK to save the changes.

Let me know how that works out, keep me in the loop and Good luck! 😉

Unfortunately I can't right click on it. THe mouse is there, but the screen flashes black so the drop down doesn't have a chance to load and I can't get to any settings. I tried a different screen as well, but same issue.

The only thing I seem to be able to get to is the task manager, using Ctrl Alt Del but I can't narrow down what task might be running that is causing this in order to stop it.

Any other thoughts on this?

Oh also, I updated the driver because the touchscreen stopped working. Prior to this it had functioned fine. Now I thought if I could roll BACK the driver, at least then the flashing screen would stop.

Okay, never mind. I did manage to get into display settings and was able to roll back the driver. It returned to normal function after I did that.
