HP Spectre Folio - 13-ak0013dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

for over the past year, my pen stops working every few minutes of use. I take out the battery and put it back in a few times for to get a few more minutes of use before it stops working again and the cycle continues.

My pen driver is completely up to date, I have tried over 3 different types of pens including the one that originally came with the computer and they all wield the same results. Installing new batteries in any given pen also doesn't change a thing.

As an artist who relies on my laptop to create illustrations, I am deeply frustrated. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,

momo

What's wrong?

Some ideas to add to your checklist...

There might be a dip in resources - the system includes 8GB RAM - adequate, though not "a Lot".

What?  If it is not the pen, it might be the software / program you are using with the pen.

Assuming any art software is adequately supported with an 8GB system, there might be something else going on.

If used,

Is the art software updated / current / supported on your system?

Check with the program / software provider.

===================================================================

Check what the computer is doing when the pen falters.

For example, start the Task Manager and check through the resource lists.

If you know how to use it, open tab Performance > (at the bottom) Open Resource Monitor

===================================================================

Not likely - just an "Easter Egg"

There might be static build-up on the screen.

Not sure what you do about that, though perhaps what you use to clean the screen might impact the results.
