Product: HP All-in-One - 24-df0170
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Plugged my HDMI cord into the output port on my Xbox One...and plugged the other end into the HDMI port on my HP All in one. But, the HDMI port on the CPU doesn't specify whether it is an input or output port. Regardless I cannot figure out how to switch from computer display to HDMI (xbox) display. Please help!

Your AIO has the following ports

The only "input" port is the power supply

 

Connecting two HDMI output ports together can damage one or both systems as +5 volts is present on pin 18. 

An output port can only connect to an input port.  Hopefully nothing was damaged.

xbox or computer needs to connect to TV set or external monitor.  No adapter can change output to input.
