HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have hp envy 2 in 1 laptop, when I put my laptop in regular mode my screen starts glitching, icons are jumping in taskbar and mouse pointer doesn't work properly, but when I turn it into tablet mode the display works just fine. What could cause this problem? Technically my laptop is unusable in normal mode and I have had this laptop for last 2 years I just started facing this problem yesterday. I already installed new windows update but problem is still not solved. HELP!

Hi @Tejas0071

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the screen glitching in regular mode:

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Go to the Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
  • Expand the "Display adapters" section.
  • Right-click your graphics driver and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software." If there are updates, install them and restart your laptop.

Roll Back Graphics Driver:

  • If the issue started after a driver update, you might want to roll back the driver.
  • In Device Manager, right-click the graphics driver, select "Properties," go to the "Driver" tab, and choose "Roll Back Driver."

Adjust Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Ensure the display resolution is set correctly for your screen.
  • Check the refresh rate under "Advanced display settings" to ensure it's set to the recommended value.

Check for External Devices:

  • Disconnect any external devices (USB devices, monitors, etc.) to see if any peripherals are causing interference.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Run the "Hardware and Devices" troubleshooter to check for any issues.

Disable Tablet Mode:

  • Since the display works fine in tablet mode, make sure tablet mode is turned off in regular mode by going to Settings > System > Tablet, and set it to "Don't ask me and don't switch."

Check for Malware:

  • Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or any other antivirus software to rule out malware as a cause.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you could try restoring the system to a point before the problem began. Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore and follow the prompts.

Reset Windows:

  • If nothing else works, consider resetting Windows while keeping your files. Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC.
  • Make sure you back up your file and reset.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
