Have graphic intel embedded on my HP Desktop motherboard Thinking of upgrading to 4gig pci graphics card. But, I cannot disable the present intel graphics chip through the BIOS setup. Would there be conflict if I was to upgrade with the 4 gig graphics card??

What system do you have?  Older HP (2013 and earlier) do not support UEFI bios and that limits you to older video boards unless a BIOS mode can be done.

Usually the internal video is disabled automatically when a graphics card is used.
