Pavilion 2040fr
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Bonjour,

Hi...thanks for this incredible solution, but it's not ok with me...I've done all in the video...but I can't get the "MAC ADRESS SCREEN"...that's only put me back the "FIRST DOS SCREEN", not the one with "client mac adress and DHCP"

any idea about that ?!

Hi:

In order for a Nvidia GT 7xx or newer to work in a HP consumer class PC such as the P6-2040fr , it must have a BIOS version 8.xx or newer installed.

Your PC's BIOS only goes up to version 7.16, which is why the GT 1030 doesn't work.

Your PC is limited to using graphics cards --Nvidia GT 6xx or older, and AMD HD 6xxx or older.

Hello @Jiminix  @Paul_Tikkanen
Unfortunately, I lost my tutorial when the HP France forum closed!
So I do not remember all the examples, but with this motherboard there are possibilities ..
with the help of another user, we had made a summary, but I can not give anything more I just found this:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-p6-2071scm-BIOS-upd...

this can give an idea on a model if the latter cannot work

Note: You can just press F1 at the HP boot screen to boot it without the crackling noise. Pressing F12 without touching Esc also seems to work for some. Alt + F10 has been reported to work, too. Note 2: Not all Cupertino2s are built equal, it seems, and some of them will still fail to run free ...

hello sorry i don't have time to re-analyze everything ..
I had done several researches at the time, and given back all the possible manipulations, all this time was lost!
It may not work with this model, but as mentioned, it can help find another graphics card, you have to look at the comments!
Maybe it is possible to contact this person, he gives different links
But from memory, there are several solutions to test, read the comments carefully!

I also find a possibility to put the card and install the driver of the GT 1030 in use the internal vga cpu, and my oldest video card ( in the device manager, the card is in yellow status. But, infortunatly, when I switch off the internal cpu for the GT 1030, same problem...beep and black screen...I think I'm gonna buy a new one, with safe compatibility.

Again, thanks for yours solutions 🙂
