HP Pavilion 31.5 inch All-in-One Desktop PC 32-b1000i (6J6L4AV)

Unfortunately, my previous post here:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-32-All-in-One-extra-displa...

was ignored, so let's start again, in a more official way.

According to the information provided on the HP website, my device is compatible with several types of external monitors.
The full list of compatible devices is here:

https://support.hp.com/au-en/product/product-specs/hp-pavilion-31.5-inch-all-in-one-desktop-pc-32-b1...

After unsuccessfully trying to connect an additional monitor, I contacted HP Customer Support. I was informed that it is not possible to connect an extra monitor to my type of computer.

This means that the product provided by HP does not have the features promised online.

Due to this situation, I would like to file an official complaint and expect immediate contact from HP.

Kind regards,

Adam Pilc

Its specs

             https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/ish_7346040-7346104-16

which shows it has (at its back)

           (3) HDMI v1.4/HDCP v1.4 (for QHD display) or HDMI v2.0/HDCP v2.2 (for UHD display)

Sounds like they are all HDMI out ports, you should be able to connect at least one external monitor using standard HDMI cable.

What is the error ?

Regards.

@Banhien

Exactly, this is what I thought...

But there is no reaction for the external monitor connected to HDMI. ( no error as well )

All HDMI work fine as HDMI  in I have just tested : Zdjęcie WhatsApp 2024-12-02 o 10.10.11_af70ad67.jpgZdjęcie WhatsApp 2024-12-02 o 10.10.18_e420cc2e.jpgZdjęcie WhatsApp 2024-12-02 o 10.10.42_bc3e2616.jpg

furthermore, no display option on USB-C...

Thanks for the info. Very interesting, normally when a HDMI port with NO label is an out port, in this case it is an in port. Sounds like HP needs to have an answer.

I'm not an HP employee,  just a volunteer. I will put this post to our Inner Circle, hope they will look at this.

I've got some info back

  1. 3 HDMI ports are all in port, the specs is not clear, hope people who looks after document will correct it.
  2. No display option on USB-C port
  3.  So this model was designed only to be like a second monitor when connected to a laptop and you can see it works .

Regards.

Thanks a lot for the info and your help!

Today I received a call from HP Customer Support because I reported this problem for warranty repair.
I was a bit shocked by the advice I got from them...
It seems to be obvious that if HP delivered the product differently than the listed specification  I can expect an upgrade or (if this is technically impossible) an exchange for another one, especially since it is still covered by warranty...
Am I correct?
However, they advised me since I can't use this PC for my work... TO BUY NEW COMPUTER  and in case I don't need this one, TO SELL IT on eBay... !!!

I am really curious about the opinion of HP employees here.
Guys! Don't be shy!
Is it bad luck or a regular HP policy for after-sales service?

Regards,

Adam.

Sorry I have nothing to say, I am NOT an HP employee, just a customer like you and spending my time to help other customers.
