I play a couple games, some high perfomance (like Valorant) and some that can run on lower end pcs (like Stardew). Until very recently, I have never had any issues with my laptop running slow or any kind of fps issues in any game, but very recently, and randomly, my FPS in Val went from 160 to 20 fps. Loading screens in the game just stay frozen instead of the usual smooth screens I get to see. And now, something as small as small pixelated leaves falling from a tree in Stardew Valley is making my game run like im playing on a toaster. Even using Opera GX to watch YouTube is incredibly laggy and slow, and sending messages on Discord takes minutes instead of seconds.
I have made a lot of changes with several apps, Including prioritising performance over quality in the Nvidia control panel, doing several virus and threat scans, clearing storage space, cookies, and history on my browsers, and using the HP support assistant to check my drivers. All my drivers seem to be up to date, and theres no windows updates for me to install. My wifi speed tests and connections are the same as before and are functioning well. What's causing my laptop to suddenly falter? Please help.
