HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-xa0053w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Screen is cracked in several places, like it was stepped on. Purchased 12/2020 but just opened the box. No warranty now. Should I get it serviced, replace screen myself, or do I need a new PC? Haven't even turned it on yet, for fear of damaging something. Thank you!

It is up to you to repair or replace.  It might be a good project for someone in the neighborhood.

If the display works the system can be connected to a TV.  Alternately, remote desktop could be enabled and the system used from a laptop or another computer

If into DIY, then here is a disassembly video

Ebay shows $600 USD for a working used system

Replacement screens start at $300 ebay

After disassembly, look for a manufacturer name and part number like Samsung or LG and then look for that part at aliexpess or alibaba since the displays are made in asia.
