Microsoft Windows 11

I've connected a second monitor to my HP Envy 34 (Nvidia RTX-3060 GPU), and I'm encountering an intermittent problem. Sometimes, when the PC puts the screen to sleep, the built-in monitor's backlight remains on. I'd really like it to power down properly. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Just to be clear, this is "turn off the display" sleep, not PC sleep.

Possibly relevant, but I can't be sure. With a second monitor connected, when the screen is off (with backlight on or properly off), I occasionally hear the Windows chime that indicates a device is disconnecting/connecting. I only get that behaviour when a second monitor is attached, but I obviously can't see any notification as the screen is blank. However, I don't think that is a direct cause of the backlight issue, as it happens whether the backlight has gone off or not.

Cheers

John
