Second monitor not detected via hdmi port

hello,

i am trying to connect my desktop screen through laptop via hdmi port but nothing is detected on screen. Additional Screen goes to sleep mode. can you please assist do i need to install any drivers or monitors to detect second screen as i tried all possible option windows+p = select duplicate screen and then going to display setting both monitors are not detected. Display setting looks quite general one every no second screen is detected. can you please assist on this. Graphic card is Intel HD Graphics 620 and monitor is generic pnp monitor.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the HDMI issue.

 

Let's try these steps -


1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2) In Device Manager, expand Display Adapter. 
3) Right-click on the Display Adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4) Restart the computer. 

 

Download and install the BIOS, Chipset drivers from this link
