- Should a GPU break in less than 2 years?

Hi bought an OMEN gaming PC less than 2 years ago, it now black screens within seconds of starting a game or a GPU stress test.
Display drivers and Bios are all up to date.
If I swap just the GPU (RTX 2060) with an identical one from my friends PC the problem goes away... If I put my GPU in his PC, then his starts black screening.
So it definitely looks like a fault with the graphics card.
I get that the whole machine has a 1year warrantee, but speaking to HP's sales department, they seemed to think a GPU should last 5-6 years.
HP Tech support won't listen and want £500 and return to base to "fix the problem"
I agree with the sales people and think it reasonable to expect a GPU to last until the PC is pretty much obsolete, and hence the manufacture to be liable.
What does anyone else think? How long did your last GPU last?

How long is a piece of string. Electronics devices are getting better lives but that does not mean it can live forever, specially how we use them.
A video card can die after 2 years or 2 weeks again depending on how we use it. Too hot is the main cause.
Hope that makes sense.
Regards.

Thanks for the reply, sure defective electronics can just die, but the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says:
"all products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described"
So the key question is not how long should any old GPU last, but how long should a GPU of "satisfatory quality" last, to me this is more than 2 years.
Every GPU I've had prior to this has lasted way more than 2 years, in fact I don't remember a single one "breaking" they always just became too slow and got upgraded...

That why I said "how long is a piece of string" I believe standard warranty in The UK is 1 year.

I'm in the UK, so...
- Any description of the goods;
- The price...
As we are all reasonable people and given this was a £1000+ gaming PC, pretty sure <2 years is not satisfactory... shame there's not a way to run a poll here.
QUESTION:
You've just paid £1000 pounds for a gaming PC how long should you be able to play games on it for.
POST A: 2 years is Satisfactory anything more than that is a bonus.
POST B: Not acceptable, you pay that much it should last >2 years.

Review the possibilities for your Country, @Grunt3
it seems to me that it is different now from France..
With us, it's simple, but also complicated to assert your right..
So the manufacturer's warranty, HP here, is one year!
But there is the legal guarantee which is two years..
however, this is the responsibility of the seller!
So if the computer breaks down before the end of the two years, it must be taken care of by the seller.
It doesn't matter, what we can think here is a fact, computer broken, less than two years old, the dealer, must make an offer
This can be (for us in France) depending on the breakdown, age of the computer etc. a repair, an exchange, a refund..
nothing if the seller is not honest, does not want to respect the contract, then it becomes complicated
