HP Pavillion all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an all in one HP Pavillion 24-b017c which came installed with a touchscreen. Recently we noticed that the touchscreen no longer works. When I tried to go into the device manager and look under the "Human Interface Devices" section it does not show up. I have tried looking under hidden devices and it is not there. I searched windows for pen and touch options, and it says that we do not have a touchscreen. I know that we do have a touchscreen, it has somehow been uninstalled or deleted from a windows update. I can't find any drivers on the HP website to install to get it working either.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you. this was not helpful though. When I run the HP Support assistant, it tells me that "No pen or touch input is available for this display. I know it has a touchscreen though, because it was working before a windows or some other update.

@Lenhardt Did you check if the touchscreen works in the BIOS Screen?

  • This would help us determine if this is either a software or hardware related issue, hence I request you tap on F10 during a PC restart and check if you can use the touch feature to select options outside windows.
  • If it doesn't work, this could be a hardware malfunction.
  • If it works, please use the HP website to download all the latest drivers for your device using this link: click here

Let me know how that pans out,
