Touchscreen not working along with popup for "HP System Event Utility"

HP Envy Laptop 17m-ce0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My laptop recently did a "update and restart" and ever since then, my touchscreen would stop working as soon as this pop up appeared: "Check the Windows Store for more info about HP System Event Utility."

I've already tried uninstalling the touchscreen driver and when I restart it functions semi-normally until the popup appears again.

Please help.

Thanks

@Ab1ga1l  Welcome to HP Community!

The HP System Event Utility enables special function keys on the system to be programmed.

Please click to download the HP system event utility.

I have a few steps that should resolve your concern:

I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer).

If it works on bios, it's a software issue, update the drivers from the HP Website, if the issue persists: please reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue

Attempt to run a test using the HP hardware diagnostic tool

If it doesn't work on BIOS or the diagnostics tool either,

it's a hardware failure and you may need to Contact HP to set up a hardware repair service.
