My screen is acting very sporadic. I think there’s an issue with my touchscreen, maybe it is acting that it is being touched continually - specifically on the left side. Is this something that is common in this computer model? If so, what are my options on getting this issue resolved?

Hi @ariggs1811,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue you are experiencing with your HP ENVY All-in-One - 27 Touchscreen could be caused by a faulty or overly sensitive touchscreen digitizer. Sporadic or phantom touches are a known problem that can occur with touchscreen devices, and it may be due to physical damage, calibration issues, or software conflicts.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Calibrate the Touchscreen:
- Search for "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input" in Windows.
- Select Calibrate and follow the instructions to recalibrate your screen.
- Test to see if the problem persists after calibration.
Update or Roll Back the Touchscreen Driver:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
- Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Update driver.
- If updating doesn’t work, try Uninstalling the driver and rebooting your PC, which will force Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.
Disable Touchscreen Temporarily:
To confirm if the issue is indeed with the touchscreen, you can disable it temporarily:
- In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Disable.
- If the issue stops, it's likely a hardware issue with the touchscreen.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the screen for any visible cracks or damage, especially on the left side where the issue is occurring. Even small cracks or debris can cause false touches.
Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your operating system is up to date, as there may be patches or driver updates that resolve touchscreen issues.
Factory Reset (as a Last Resort):
If the above steps don’t resolve the problem, consider performing a factory reset, but make sure to back up your data first.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
