Hi Paul...I'm baaaack:)
Update on Old Betsy:) I removed the Hard Drive from the old girl;) All by my lonesome:) It's really interesting to know what we are capable of when we want or need something:) Understanding it all, however, is another animal:)
So now that that's finished, I have one more question before listing her on the market, and I hope that whoever might be interested will know a heck of lot more than I do about computers; maybe even this question I'm about to ask you;)...
My PC originally came with Windows 7 but about a year ago Microsoft installed Windows 10 automatically. That was really nice of them, btw:) Anyhow, with the hard drive now gone, is Windows 10 still the OS? Or does it need to be re-installed or possibly switched to Windows 11?
Thanks again!! I promise, this is the last question;)...

Congratulations on removing the drive.
You can reinstall W10 on your PC after a new hard drive is installed.
You make a bootable W10 installation USB flash drive with the Media creation tool from the link below.
Boot from the media the tool created.
You will be asked to install a version of W10 (Home or Pro).
I assume your PC was upgraded from W7 Home Premium to W10 Home.
Then on the next step or the one after, you will be asked to enter a product key.
Select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once the PC is connected to the internet.

Thanks!! I'm pretty proud of myself, but I must confess, I had a little help from my friend, YOUTUBE videos. LOL!
Check on Windows 10! Sounds relatively simple, for the person buying the PC, NOT ME. LOL! I got a bite already, hehe!
Take care of yourself! And bless you for being so helpful!
