Trying to install GTX 1050 to into HP envy 700-424. Will not work. Update Bios?

Trying to install GTX 1050 ti into HP envy 700-424. Nvidia says contact HP and ask if I need to update the bios.

Do I need to update the bios for this gpu to work?

I understand that you are unable to install the graphics card.

Please update the BIOS and check for the issue.

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant. 
2. Check for updates. 
3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
