Upgraded to Windows 10, Display downgraded to "Generic non-pnp"

HP w2207
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My w2207 monitor is capable of 1920 x 1080 resolution (if I recall correctly).  That's how it was running under Windows 7.  With the expiry of Win7, I upgraded to Win10.  Now the OS can't see the monitor correctly and the Generic driver only gives me 1600x900 resolution.  I can't find anything that fixes this.  Any suggestions??

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of the PC you have the monitor connected to?

Use this guide to find that information.

If you upgraded an old PC to W10, it probably is missing the graphics driver.

You can determine if you need to install a graphics driver by going to the device manager...

Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

You should see a brand name and model graphics adapter listed there.

If you see a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed there, then you need to install a compatible graphics driver if one is available.
