On page 15 of the manual it describes wall mounting this monitor and says to get an HP "mounting accessory kit".  Does anyone know where this is on the web site since I can't find it.  Assume this converts the hinge mount to a VESA plate.  Anyone know which pattern applies for this monitor (ie 100 x 200, 200 x 200, etc)   so I can research mounts.  Thanks.

John,

Look on the back of the monitor. Do you see the HP logo popoff plate?

I see an engraved HP but it doesn't appear like it comes off.

John,

Was the mounting kit not include in the list of shipping materials?  I did not see listed on what's in the box.

Try HP sales and see if they have it available.

The monitors that I use all mount from the back but the 2711x is differnet.

You're darn right it's different.  That's why he's asking about the part.  I've contacted sales and chatted online with support staff and they can't find it either.  Here is the conversation (perhaps you guys can get it finally made?):

[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:08 PM] -- Ahana G says:
You did not receive the 'mounting accessory kit' as mentioned in the manual, right ?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:09 PM] -- Ahana G says: Have you purchased the monitor online through shopping?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:11 PM] -- Donald Bolton says:
Correct. If you see the system specs also it lists all the included parts. That part is not part of the list. The manual implies it is a separate purchase. You all do not seem to have one ready yet, true?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:11 PM] -- Ahana G says: Let me know from where you have bought the monitor ?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:12 PM] -- Donald Bolton says: Office Depot.
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:13 PM] -- Ahana G says:
You need to contact to Office Depot and tell them about the missing part
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:14 PM] -- Donald Bolton says:
Nope. You all did not manufacture one yet. That's all. If you do have such a part, perhaps you can point it out to me in the parts store?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:15 PM] -- Ahana G says:
I will recheck if we have the part in our part store or not
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:16 PM] -- Donald Bolton says:
Please read my previous post: You parts included list do not have the mounting kit listed. It is a separate purchase. Where is it?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:16 PM] -- Ahana G says: Give me few minutes while I check this
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:21 PM] -- Ahana G says: Thanks for bearing with me

[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:22 PM] -- Donald Bolton says: OK. Nothing, huh?
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:22 PM] -- Ahana G says: "mounting accessory kit' is not listed there

[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:27 PM] -- Donald Bolton says:
No, except I will not waste my time with Office Depot, unless they have better pull than me in getting that part finally made, so that when you guys refer to it in your manual, it's actually available. Perhaps you could mention this to your supervisors.
[Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:28 PM] -- Ahana G says: I will forward this concern to my higher authority

Dave -  there was no kit with the monitor.  I just spent an hour on the phone getting bounced around from sales to parts to business back to consumer support and was finall told they have no such kit for the monitor.  They would not go so far to admit that the manual was in error however.  Bottom line - don't plan on wall or arm  mounting this monitor.

John,

It's probable that the monitor was released before the mounting kits were made available.

Well sales and parts support really need to get a clue.  I was  told by one person  to just go and get what's needed at Walmart!

Manual of 2711x - http://www.shopping.hp.com/shopping/pdf/xp600aa.pdf mentions that there is no VESA mounting available on this monitor.
