Vertical Line on One of My Monitors
11-29-2021 02:07 PM

I bought two Hp monitors, one of them in January, and another in March. I have one of them connected to a displayport, and another to HDMI. Earlier this morning, everything was fine, and I went to turn them on again this morning and the displayport one had a red-ish dotted vertical line straight down the middle. I tried switching the ports of the monitors, and the line followed the same monitor, even when it had an HDMI plugged in. Didn't take any damage or anything, no changes were made to the computer in the couple hours between it working and not working. Any help would be appreciated. Doesn't seem like this should be something that happens when I've owned this for less than a year.

I agree. There is some hardware problem inside the monitor.
Have you contacted HP Support, to open a claim against the initial 12-month HP Warranty?
Hopefully, they will repair/replace your monitor, instead of denying any help to you.

I have not yet, I was hoping there would be something I could do to just fix the issue instead of having to replace it. I just updated my graphics drivers and that did not solve the issue. I'll open a support ticket. I didn't purchase a warranty, so I'm glad you mentioned the 12-month one, I was not aware of that.
