Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello and thanks in advance for any help that's offered.  I have an old HP3130 desktop PC that's been very reliable and works perfectly except it's developed a problem which I think is related to the video card.   There's shadowing on the display, new HP27F, for all the icons and text.  I've tried the monitor on another computer and it's fine.  So it makes me think there's a problem with the video card in the PC.  My question is - should I add a new video card and disable the one that's currently installed?  I think the current setup has the video hardware ion the main board.  Thank you.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you check in BIOS and see if you experience the same issue

Shut down the Desktop and upon restarting keep tapping on F 10 till you see the BIOS.

If the issue persists in the BIOS and you have already confirmed the functionality of the Monitor, then you can go ahead and add an extra Graphics Card and connect your monitor to the Graphics Card port

Thank you

Thanks- I'll go ahead and install a new video card and disable the on board video via the BIOS setup.   I'll also upgrade the memory from 4 to 8Gb at the same time.

Thanks - 0'll see if I can I disable the on board graphics capability , then add a new card.  Can you recommend any graphics card that will also support a recommended 4K monitor please.  I'm currently using an HP27F screen, and the display isn't that great.

Appreciate your advice - thank you.
