HP EliteDisplay S230tm 23-inch Touch Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, this touchscreen has the following connection sockets.

1. display port

2. DVI

3 USB C

am I correct in thinking that I need to connect either 1 or 2 to my laptop, plus also item 3? Will this give both display screen and touch functionality?

if not, how?

thanks

I guess I need to explain. The HP touchscreen I’ve just bought is reconditioned, and has a Display Port, a DVI socket and a USB-C socket. My laptop has a HDMI socket, a VGA socket and of course several USB sockets.

Am I correct in thinking that whilst a lead (via an adaptor) from laptop HDMI to the screen DP will convey the video display, the USB lead between the two will support the actual touch functionality. So both need connecting?

The easiest to do is to connect HDMI (from notebook) to DVI (on monitor) using HDMI to DVI direct cable such as

            https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/comsol-hdmi-male-to-dvi-male-cable-1m-cohddm01

You can also use HDMI (on notebook) to DP (on monitor) with bidirectional cable.

Regards.

Thanks. And what about the USB connection? Does that also need to be linked, as well as the display connection?
