Envy 750-114 Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am a hobbyist photographer and would like to use a 27" 4K monitor. I would like to know if using such a monitor will slow down the Envy's performance.  In other words, how efficiently can the Envy handle this type of monitor?  Thanks.

Hello
intel data sheet:

For me, then it might work, but yes, this chip is not good enough.
You can display photos, maybe without too much problem
But if you do photographic processing, then there is a risk that it will slow down.

Sorry, but I should have also included this question: OK, HP 750 slows down during photo processing when using a 4K monitor, but what about a 27" 2K (1440p) monitor? Will photo editing still be slowed down AND when not doing photo editing, will general computer browsing and/or email stuff slow down also? Thanks.

EDIT:  Assuming a got a new 2k monitor, can I add a graphics card to speed things up and which card would you recommend?  Thanks, again.

I do not understand everything sorry
Have you ever used the computer for photo processing?
I tell you that if you use a screen of this type, it might be slower.
But in my opinion, depending on your software, your setup may not be enough anyway, adding a screen like this won't help matters.
it might be difficult to add a graphics card, as you will be limited by the power supply
Check the requirements of your software, it will be necessary to see according to
if not, you can with this power supply, use this type of graphics card

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

this is the model delivered to HP, it will be necessary to check the manufacturer requirements for the model found on the net
this is just an example
look at this list (check by model motherboard and power supply in place)
