Hi @Sparks6594,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with the Windows 11 update trying to install an HP printer update for a printer you no longer have, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the problem.
- Uninstall the printer software: Go to the "Settings" app in Windows 11, click on "Apps," and then locate the HP printer software in the list of installed applications. Select it and click on "Uninstall" to remove it from your system.
- Remove the printer from Devices and Printers: Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type "control printers" and press Enter. In the Devices and Printers window, locate the printer you no longer have and right-click on it. Choose "Remove device" to delete it from the list.
- Use the Printer Software Removal Utility: HP provides a specialized utility called the "Printer Software Removal Utility" that can help completely remove any traces of HP printer software from your system. Visit the HP support website and search for the utility specific to your printer model. Download and run the utility, following the on-screen instructions to remove the software.
- Disable Windows Update for the specific driver: Open the "Settings" app, click on "Windows Update," and then select "Advanced options." Under the "Optional updates" section, click on "Driver updates." If you see the HP printer driver update listed, uncheck it to prevent Windows from attempting to install it again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
