HP Z27 4k Monitor
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I recently had to replace the cable that came with the monitor. Previously it would put out a full charge and maintain the display connection via the single USB C port on the back.

I bought Belkin .5m thunderbolt 3 usb-c cable. It is display port, usb 2.0, usb 3.0 thunderbolt 3, and 100w rated so it should be compatible. Supports the display no problem, but the macbook slowly drains while while plugged in so it doesnt seem like it is getting quite enough power.

I thought it might be a bad cable so I bought a similar Anker cable. Exact same problem.

Help, how do I get it back to supporting a full charge?

@emrodr

Why not buy same cable. HP supplies a cable, must be a reason for that.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards.

Hello,

I am having the same issue. What is the cable that comes with the monitor?
