Z27n G2 Monitor - USB-C to USB-A Cable Provided in Box - Can I use it to connect to my laptop?

Hey All,

I recently purchased two of the Z27n G2 27-inch monitors and have them daisy-chained no problem via DisplayPort on my work laptop.

I also have a gaming laptop that I'd like to connect when I'm not working, but it doesn't have a DisplayPort port. I've connected one of the monitors with HDMI, but I was wondering what my options are for connecting the second monitor. The remaining ports on my laptop are 3 USB-A 3.0 ports. (it's a Dell Inspiron 1500 (https://www.dell.com/vg/p/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/pd))

The monitors came with a USB-C to USB-A cable that I'm wondering if there's a way to use to connect to the USB-C port on the monitor. I read online in my research that USB-A ports don't normally convey display data and that a driver would need to be installed to do that, but none of the information in the manual talks about this. The manual kind of ignores explaining why the monitors came with this cable, so I'm at a loss. And this is a hard thing to google since my query has so many generic keywords. 🙂

The only solution I've been able to find is to get an HDMI-to-DisplayPort adapter and then use my DisplayPort daisychain setup, but those adapters go for $85 on monoprice, so I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on this before I purchase. Any tips would be super helpful, thank you!
