HP 24ea IPS Display
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I recently bought this HP24 inch monitor to use it as an external monitor with my Macbook pro laptop. When I connect the external monitor to Mac book, even though I changed the resolution of my screen to 1920x1080 which is the optimized resolution size for the monitor I recently bought, the external monitor shows the black vertical bar on the right edge of its screen. Below is what I have done to fix the problem but I have the problem still.

1. change the resolution to 1920x1080

2. tried auto adjustment of the screen

3. used different vga cords

after trying all this, I still have the problem. Please help me fix this issue.

Thank you

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

To get the answer to this question, HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
