HP All-in-One - 22-df0013w

I have two extra monitors for work which would make my set up a three monitor extended system. I have a docking station but I do not see a USB-C or Thunderbolt connection on the PC itself.  How do I connect the docking station to extend the display screen that has the Thunderbolt or USB-C? I do not see where I can connect it. I do know the Thunderbolt and USB-C are similar but different.  Please advise.

Hi @hollyknight90,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Given your situation with the HP All-In-One - 22-Df0013w and the lack of USB-C or Thunderbolt ports for connecting your docking station, you will have to explore alternative methods to connect your additional monitors. Here are a few options you can consider:

1. Use of Adapters or Converters

If your HP All-In-One PC and docking station offer different types of connections (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA), you can use adapters or converters to bridge the connection types. For example, if your PC has an HDMI port and your docking station uses USB-C, you can find HDMI to USB-C adapters.

2. USB-A Docking Stations

Some docking stations are designed to connect through standard USB-A ports, which are more commonly found on a wider range of computers, including older models. These docking stations can still offer connections to multiple monitors, as well as other peripherals like keyboards, mice, and storage devices. Check if your docking station supports this or consider purchasing one that does.

3. External USB Graphics Adapters

An external USB graphics adapter is a device that allows you to connect additional monitors to your PC via USB-A ports. These adapters are relatively inexpensive and can support various video outputs such as HDMI, DVI, or VGA. This can be a straightforward solution if you're looking to extend your desktop across multiple monitors.

4. Wireless Display Adapters

If your monitors support it, you could use wireless display technology (such as Miracast or WiDi) to connect your monitors without physical cables. This would require compatible hardware on both the monitor and PC sides, and while convenient, may not offer the same performance as a wired connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
