Happy to assist you. Your HP ProDesk 400 G6 MT according to https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06388162, can come with one of three different power supplies for your desktop: 180, 250, and 310 watt. Please take a look inside your PC, and let me know what your PSU's wattage rating and part number is.

 

The wattage of your power supply will influence what graphics card you could install.
