HP e231
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi

I have a 2016 macbook and an elitedisplay e231 monitor. I have tried a number of different chord/adapter combinations to connect the monitor to the macbook. The only thing that works is directly connecting from the Displayport to the USB-C/power port on the Mac. If I use any kind of hub or multi-port adapter the monitor does not recognize the computer and goes to sleep. I've tried this with HDMI and USB-C. Would be very grateful for any advice.
