Microsoft Windows 11

I have an incompatability problem with the refresh rate and have only one option on the drop down menu in the display control settings.  Are there any hidden menus that can give me more options.  Many thanks

Hi @006GJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

There might be a few things you can check or try to address the issue with limited refresh rate options on your HP Pavilion All-In-One PC. Keep in mind that the steps might vary based on the operating system you are using (Windows, macOS, etc.). Here are some general suggestions.

For Windows:

Check Graphics Driver: Ensure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed. Visit the official HP website or the website of the graphics card manufacturer to download and install the most recent drivers for your system.

Advanced Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Scroll down and click on "Advanced display settings."
  • Under "Refresh rate," see if there are additional options.

Graphics Control Panel:

  • If you have an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, check their respective control panels for additional display options.
  • Right-click on the desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel" or "AMD Radeon Settings."

Custom Resolution:

  • Some graphics drivers allow you to create custom resolutions. Explore your graphics control panel for an option like "Customize" or "Create custom resolution."

For macOS:

System Preferences:

  • Click on the Apple logo in the top-left corner and go to "System Preferences."
  • Select "Displays" and navigate to the "Display" tab.
  • Check for additional refresh rate options.

Display Overrides:

  • On macOS, you can use the "Display Overrides" feature to add custom resolutions and refresh rates.
  • You can find instructions on how to create display overrides online or through third-party tools.

Graphics Driver Updates:

  • If you have a discrete graphics card, ensure that you have the latest graphics drivers installed. Check the website of the GPU manufacturer for updates.

General Tips:

Check Monitor Specifications:

  • Ensure that your monitor supports the desired refresh rate. Some monitors may have limitations on certain resolutions and refresh rates.

HDMI/DisplayPort Cable:

  • If you are using an external monitor, make sure you are using a high-quality HDMI or DisplayPort cable that supports the desired refresh rate.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Check your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings for any display-related options. Sometimes, there might be settings that impact display configurations.

Update Operating System:

  • Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
