Hi @Antara_Mookerj,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A static screen on your HP laptop is unlikely to be a sign of hacking. It’s more commonly related to hardware or driver issues. Here are some possible causes.

  • Graphics Driver Issues: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display problems. Updating or reinstalling your graphics drivers might help.
  • Overheating: Overheating can cause temporary display issues. Ensure your laptop’s cooling system is working properly and that vents are not blocked.
  • Hardware Faults: Faulty hardware, such as a loose connection or a failing graphics card, can lead to static on the screen.
  • Software Glitches: Sometimes, software bugs can cause temporary display issues. Restarting the laptop often resolves this.
  • External Factors: Issues with external displays or cables (if you’re using one) can also cause static.

If the problem persists or if you notice other unusual behavior, it’s a good idea to run a full system scan for malware and check for any available system updates or hardware diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
