I have a new HP Pavilion 31.5 inch All-in-One Desktop PC 32-b1032noBundle PC and on the back there is 1 USB-C port + 3 HDMI
I want to connect 2 external monitors. normally you can do it with an HP dock G5 but it connects according to the device manager but no screens are found regardless of which socket I use (VGA, DVI, HDMI) Can you not connect to external monitors on this AIO PC?

Hi @Lagis,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering some difficulties in connecting external monitors to your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC. Let's troubleshoot this step by step.

  • Compatibility Check: Ensure that the external monitors you're trying to connect are compatible with the HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC. Check their specifications and compatibility with the ports available on your PC.
  • Dock Compatibility: Since you mentioned using an HP dock G5, double-check if the dock is compatible with your specific model of the HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC. Sometimes, certain docks are designed for specific models or series of computers.
  • Driver Update: Make sure that all drivers for your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC are up to date, including graphics drivers and any drivers related to the dock or external monitor connectivity.
  • Cable Connection: Ensure that all cables are securely connected between your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC, the HP dock (if applicable), and the external monitors. Sometimes, loose connections can prevent the monitors from being detected.
  • Monitor Settings: Check the input source settings on your external monitors. They should be set to the correct input source corresponding to the cable connected to your PC (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort).
  • Display Settings: Once the external monitors are connected, right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" in Windows. Make sure that the external monitors are detected and configured correctly in the display settings.
  • Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Sometimes, certain BIOS or UEFI settings might need adjustment to enable external monitor support. Check your PC's documentation or HP website for guidance on accessing and configuring these settings.
  • Hardware Compatibility Limitation: Unfortunately, some all-in-one PCs have limitations regarding external monitor support. Review the specifications of your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC to ensure that it supports the desired configuration of external monitors.

If you've tried these steps and are still unable to connect the external monitors successfully, it's possible that there may be a hardware compatibility limitation with your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Thank you for your answer but it takes time and skills to do this but now I have found a solution? Hp dock G5 does NOT work but Hp dock G2 with the symbol and text "DisplayLink" underneath works, why , what is the difference between G2 and G5, which lacks this symbol underneath .Now my 2nd problem, Hp Sweden sells the dock G2 but without power LC and cables i.e. only the dock, which LC adapter should you buy e.g. 45W, 65W or can you buy the one that HP sells for the G5 or
