The orange light on the touchpad of an HP laptop typically indicates that the touchpad is disabled. This is a feature on many HP laptops where the touchpad can be toggled on or off to prevent accidental movements while typing.
To re-enable your touchpad:
- Double-tap the upper-left corner of the touchpad (where the orange light is).
If this doesn't work, you can try enabling the touchpad through the settings:
- Windows Settings: Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure the touchpad is turned on.
- Device Manager: Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu), expand Mice and other pointing devices, and check if the touchpad is enabled. If not, right-click it and select Enable.
