HP Slim Desktop S01-pF1048xt
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Well, after receiving my new monitor with missing parts, I am now trying to set up the desktop and it will not find any wi-fi networks.  I have two other devices in the room that pick up my wi-fi plus all my neighbors' but the desktop picks up zero.

I have rebooted the computer and the wi-fi modem/router multiple times.  All other devices are connected to wi-fi with no problem.

I have run the network troubleshooter in Windows multiple times which says there is:

1.  a problem with the adapter and

2.  a cable unplugged. (which is, I suspect, an ethernet cable which I thought i didn't need with wi-fi)

I have gone to hp.com and run through the virtual helper several times.

I am hoping someone here can help me.

Thank you in advance.

Terri

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not showing any wireless networks.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Is the wireless card detected in the device manager? If yes, then uninstall the wireless card from the device manager and then download and install it from the HP website.

Here is how it is done.

1. Download the drivers from here but do not run them yet.

2. Go to your start screen/menu and type Device Manager.

3. Expand Network adapters.

4. Right click on the wireless adapter and choose Uninstall.

5. Run the downloaded drivers from step 1.

6. Restart your PC and test.

If you continue facing the issue, Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.

2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.

3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.

4. Restart your PC and test.

It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.

2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.

3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.

4. Restart your PC and test.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
