HP ENVY 32-A0777NZ

After moving house my WiFi doesn't work. There is no WiFi in network adapters and no WiFi card in device manager.

Is there an external switch which turns the WiFi off which I touched when moving the computer? or does it need a replacement motherboard?

Hi @banjo67xxx,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP ENVY 32 is an all-in-one desktop computer, and it doesn't typically have an external switch to turn the Wi-Fi on or off. Instead, the Wi-Fi functionality is integrated into the motherboard or connected through a separate Wi-Fi card, depending on the specific model.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the Wi-Fi issue.

Check the physical connections:

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi antenna cables are securely connected to the motherboard or Wi-Fi card inside the computer.
  • Verify that the power cable and any other necessary cables are properly connected to the computer.

Check for a Wi-Fi card: Some all-in-one computers have a separate Wi-Fi card that can be accessed by opening the back panel. If your ENVY 32 has one, make sure it is properly seated in its slot.

BIOS settings: Sometimes, Wi-Fi functionality can be disabled in the BIOS settings. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing the appropriate key during startup (commonly F2, F10, or Del). Check for any Wi-Fi-related settings and make sure they are enabled.

Device Manager: Open the Device Manager and check if there are any unknown or disabled devices. If the Wi-Fi card is not being recognized, it may appear here with a yellow triangle or be listed under "Other devices." You can try to update the drivers for any unrecognized devices.

Reinstall drivers: If the Wi-Fi drivers are missing or corrupted, you can download and reinstall them from HP's official website. Make sure to download the correct drivers for your specific ENVY 32 model.

System Restore: If the Wi-Fi was working before you moved and the issue occurred after the move, you can try using Windows System Restore to revert your computer to a state when Wi-Fi was working correctly.

Check for physical damage: Inspect the computer and its components for any physical damage that may have occurred during the move, such as disconnected or damaged internal cables.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
